Important Information
Cars must be parked on the village road or at the cemetery; from there it is about 500 metres on foot uphill to the monastery. Driving by car up to the monastery is not possible.
Paths and monastery grounds are not wheelchair accessible; the church is accessible only by stone steps.
Silence and reverence are self-evident for every spiritually minded person entering a holy place.
The Orthodox dress code applies, as is customary in Orthodox monasteries worldwide.
- Men without head covering and wearing long trousers
- Women with head covering and a long skirt or dress
- Mobile phones, beeping watches, music devices etc. are forbidden
- Please do not wear rustling plastic clothing during services. If necessary, wear a pullover or woollen clothing.
- In winter, bring warm indoor shoes
